This was my feeble attempt to codify the things I see every day that go wrong with incentives and reward programs.  Because I'm not as prolific as Martin Luther or the ClueTrain guys there's only 9.5 not 95 theses.

I included this one because too often we look to incentives and rewards to drive behavior change and really what we need to look at is the big picture – the environment within which the behavior occurs.  Start there and move out to incentives.  Many of your motivation problems are really environment problems.
